Reframed the problem from “forgetting items” to moment-of-doubt verification during packing, checkout, and repacking.

Defined product and system boundaries, deciding what the system should detect, ignore, and defer to user confirmation.

Owned the physical–digital system design, including electronics logic, camera placement, and UX flow for AI-based item recognition.

Built and validated a working prototype using ESP32-CAM, addressing constraints around low light, clutter, battery, privacy, and trust.

Pivoted the concept from luggage-embedded hardware to a modular camera system after testing revealed variability in luggage types and cost sensitivity.

Outcome: Defined GTM strategy and early-adopter positioning; IPR filed for novelty.
